Noise removal and call quality
Supported desktop clients offer several microphone processing modes, but the result depends on your device, your room and your browser. A separate neural network deals with keyboard and mouse clicks — the short sounds ordinary noise suppression lets through; listen to the before and after. Android uses the device's native audio path. TarnVeil is in early beta, so for a call that matters it is worth testing the sound in advance on the devices that will be in it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a call without installing anything?
Yes. Voice, video and screen sharing work in a browser tab, and a room can be entered as a guest from an invite link. The Windows and Android apps remain optional.
Does TarnVeil remove microphone noise?
Yes — and separately, the short keyboard and mouse clicks ordinary noise suppression lets through: those are handled by a neural network of our own that runs on your device. Before and after.
How is a voice room different from a call?
A call is addressed: you ring a particular person or group. A room is permanent — it is always there, people come and go as they like, and nobody has to set up a meeting again.
What is spatial audio in a room?
In certain rooms people move around a notional map, and the volume and direction of a voice depend on the distance between you — the way it works when several conversations share a room.
Are calls recorded?
No. TarnVeil records neither calls nor voice rooms — no audio, no video.
